"Black of Space" is an award-winning experimental short film remixing jazz, newsreels, and sci-fi images to tell the narrative of a Black American separated from their African roots and a journey to return back to it and embracing all parts of oneself.
In the year 2020, after the murder of George Floyd and the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement all in the middle of a global pandemic, the film aims to approach the thoughts and emotions that we all had to wrestle with.
The film was a finalist at The Newburyport Documentary Film Festival as part of the Young Emerging Showcase (YES) Award in September 2021.
